Deadline: October 31, 2025
ESA BIC Andalusia invites space-related startups in Spain and natural persons intending to establish such startups to apply for incubation, offering comprehensive support to exploit space technology or utilize space systems in non-space markets or become suppliers to the space sector.
The focus areas include supporting entrepreneurs with space connection evident through space technology or services, fostering innovation by utilizing space-based systems, and validating applications that benefit both space and non-space domains. The program emphasizes ownership by entrepreneurs with more than half the shares and requires applicants to be registered or in the process of setting up a legal company in Spain.
ESA BIC Andalusia provides office accommodation, incentive funding up to €60,000 composed of ESA and regional contributions, technical support, business coaching, legal/IPR advice, and access to testing facilities and laboratories for application validation. Incubation can last up to 24 months, and access requires a formal grant resolution from the Junta de Andalucía alongside ESA selection.
Applicants must submit required application documents including a Cover Letter with signed Requirement Checklists, Business Plan, Incubation Proposal, and Draft Incubation Contract following detailed instructions. Applications undergo formal compliance checks and evaluation by a board comprising representatives from ESA BIC Andalusia, ESA, the Spanish Space Agency, Junta de Andalucía, and other experts.
The evaluation criteria cover background and experience, technology/service feasibility, value proposition and market analysis, business modeling and risk, and quality of the activity proposal with weighted assessments. Applicants may request debriefing after evaluation results, and incubation contracts are signed post-regional grant award.
