Deadline: October 31, 2025
The Women in Ocean Food Innovation Studio is a global, equity-free business support program designed for female founders and leadership teams advancing solutions in the blue economy.
The focus areas of this initiative include sustainable aquaculture, marine biotech, seafood value chains, ocean conservation, and blue carbon, with participants also benefiting from Strategy Support, Long-term Support, Follow-on Investment, Local Discovery Trips, Individualized Mentorship, and access to a Global Female-Led Company Network.
The program, starting on 26 January 2026 in La Paz, Baja California Sur, Mexico, spans 12 months and begins with a full-time 10-day studio. It emphasizes mentorship, resources, and curated connections to accelerate commercial growth while addressing gender disparities in ocean food systems. Selected participants will benefit from guidance by global experts, local industry discovery trips, and exposure to impact investors.
Applicants must be female-led companies or projects where women act as true decision-makers. The program covers travel, accommodation, and food costs for up to two participants per team. On-site participation is mandatory to ensure deep engagement and collaboration. The program concludes with a Community Day where finalists pitch their ideas to potential investors and stakeholders.
The Women in Ocean Food Innovation Studio is powered by Hatch Blue in collaboration with Conservation International Ventures, alongside the support of Alumbra Innovations Foundation, Builders Initiative, Aquaculture Stewardship Council, Schmidt Marine Technology Partners, Beyster Foundation for Enterprise Development, and Sea Forward Fund.
