Entries open for 100+ Accelerator Program for Sustainable Agriculture

Deadline: Ongoing

Entries are now open for 100+ Accelerator Program for Sustainable Agriculture to help farmers produce sustainable and regenerative high-yielding, high-quality crops by leveraging science, technology, and financing.

Subchallenges

  • Farmer Training, Engagement & Support
  • Crop Quality & Productivity & Carbon Capture
  • Other/New Innovations Testing & Analysis

Top Priorities

  • Farmer Training, Engagement & Support:
    • Systems and tools to strengthen farmers’ commercial decision-making, and enable alliances and information sharing among farmers.
  • Crop Quality & Productivity & Carbon Capture:
    • Integrated solution that enables the early identification, prediction, and prevention of plant diseases and pest outbreaks — using remote sensing, in-field sensors, and benign pest control systems — to alert farmers to emerging threats and guide precise, timely, and environmentally responsible mitigation actions
    • Identification, prediction, and prevention of plant diseases and pests, including alert systems for changing disease pressure and recommended mitigation actions and benign pest control systems
    • Drought-resistant and heat-tolerant agriculture production systems, including varieties with deep root systems and reduced evapotranspiration.
    • Low-carbon agricultural inputs or input optimization, with high adoption and low churn among farmers. Next-Generation Green Fertilizers (sustainable alternatives with reduced environmental impact, focusing on enhanced nutrient efficiency).
    • Tools and technologies to improve harvest and post-harvest processes, enhancing crop quality, farmer productivity, and predicting quality parameters (e.g., DON, protein) and yield.
  • Other/New Innovations Testing & Analysis:
    • Crop by-product reuse and valorization, helping farmers generate new revenue streams from agricultural waste or secondary outputs and/or turn the upcycled waste stream as valued ingredients.

Areas of Interest

  • Farmer Training, Engagement & Support:
    • Low-carbon rice farming solutions.
    • Carbon credit generation solutions from current agro and water programs.
  • Crop Quality & Productivity & Carbon Capture:
    • Crop damage prevention or mitigation during extreme or erratic weather events.
    • Efficient water use in agriculture and irrigation systems (e.g., drip and sprinkler), with tools to track improvements in water usage.
    • Digital phenotyping technologies to improve selection of improved crop varieties.
    • Solutions for improved orange pulp quality and yield.
    • Water status monitoring in soil and trees (for orchards related production) to give guidance to farmer on irrigation practices in real-time
    • Rapid low-cost farm baselining and soil testing
    • Solutions to harmonize climate action progress tracking and monitoring systems in line with market regulations
    • Low-carbon fertilizer solutions: such as organic fertilizers, bio-fertilizers, etc.
  • Other/New Innovations Testing & Analysis:
    • Solutions to guarantee soy and/or corn for animal feed come from non-deforested area
    • Innovative strategies to support milk producers achieve better prices and enhancing productivity in milk prices
    • Innovative technologies targeting grassland management efficiency plus fertilizer/concentrate reduction, leading to improved practices
    • Innovative solution to reduce storage of manure and the application of manure potentially leading to improved utilization of the manure
    • Decision making tool to increase dairy cow longevity, reduce costs and co2 footprint
    • Solution to unlock methane reduction from enteric fermentation in pasture-based dairy farming systems
    • Regen ag: Tools and technologies to reduce the transition time of regen ag practices, returning farms to pre-regen ag profitability.

Benefits

  • The 100+ Accelerator will provide support, guidance and access to potential funding through:
    • Pilot customer opportunities with the six corporate partners:
      • AB InBev, The Coca-Cola Company, Colgate-Palmolive, Danone, Mondelez International, and Unilever (including the potential to scale company-wide)
