Deadline Date: December 30, 2025
The OceanHub Africa Acceleration Program offers a unique opportunity for ocean-impact startups across Africa to scale their ventures and contribute to the restoration and protection of marine ecosystems.
The focus areas of the opportunity are accelerating high-potential, for-profit startups that are ocean-minded, actively working to preserve and restore ocean health; supporting ventures with either pre-revenue or post-revenue stage provided they have a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) or are close to launching; delivering a 12-month hybrid acceleration programme with two annual intakes (March and July); offering hands-on growth support including customer acquisition, proof-of-concept execution, scaling support, access to a global ocean-impact ecosystem, strategic mentorship, and investor readiness; and providing resources such as cloud credits, engineering software tools, legal advisory, business development support, network access, and exposure to key stakeholders in the blue economy.
Selected startups will enter a rigorous two-phase structure: Phase 1 (Pathway to Readiness) focuses on building and refining the core business elements necessary to engage clients, funders, and investors effectively. This culminates in an intensive in-person bootcamp and a showcase at the BlueTech event. Following an evaluation, up to 12 top-performing ventures move to Phase 2 (Bridge to Opportunities), where emphasis shifts to stakeholder engagement, raising visibility, and strategic introduction to investors. Some ventures may also become eligible for additional support via the Blue Loop Fund and curated access through a digital dealroom.
To be eligible for the programme, applicants must be for-profit entities based in Africa, have a scalable ocean-impact product or service that is market-ready or near-launch, demonstrate innovation in their technology or business model, and exhibit a clear commitment to growth and investment. The venture should offer measurable environmental impact, whether through pollution mitigation, sustainable resource management, marine conservation, or climate-change adaptation related to the ocean.
By joining OceanHub Africa, startups gain access to a global network of ocean experts, impact investors, potential clients and collaborators, plus practical support in business development, technical development, fundraising, and strategic scaling. The programme’s mix of mentorship, resources, networks and strategic support seeks to accelerate ocean-minded startups to scale—capturing both environmental impact and commercial viability.
