The Circulab program invites startups and MSMEs in Mindanao to create circular economy solutions that turn agricultural and industrial waste into valuable, sustainable innovations.
The program focuses on waste-to-value innovations, circular materials and packaging, regenerative agriculture solutions, recycling and recovery technologies, and climate-smart production systems, while contributing to the objectives of strengthening entrepreneurial support programs for green startups and fostering private sector initiatives that advance the circular economy.
Grant funds are intended to support go-to-market activities, MVP validation, research and development, and market expansion. The program provides technical and financial support to accelerate the growth of sustainable and circular economy startups in Mindanao, contributing to a greener and more resilient local economy.
Eligible startups and MSMEs may receive grant funding of up to 19,445 EUR or 1.3 million PHP to participate in a nine-month accelerator program. The grant supports activities including MVP validation, product development, research and development, go-to-market activities, pilot deployment, and market expansion initiatives.
Applicants must be registered with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) or Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), hold valid permits and licenses, have at least one full-time founder actively managing the venture, and operate a working and validated Minimum Viable Product (MVP) within the circular economy or green innovation space. The program focuses on Regions 10, 11, 12, 13, and the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), where agricultural productivity is high but waste recovery systems, enterprise capacity, and financing opportunities remain limited.
