Call for Proposals: AFR100 Land Accelerator Africa Project

The focus areas for this opportunity are the African Union Development Agency (AUDA-NEPAD) partnership with AFR100, World Resources Institute (WRI), and Fledge to support entrepreneurs restoring degraded forests and farmland in Africa. The program emphasizes mentorship, technical training, networking opportunities, empowerment of women and youth restoration entrepreneurs, and achieving the goals of forest landscape restoration (FLR) in Africa aligned with the Bonn Challenge, African Union Agenda 2063, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The AFR100 Land Accelerator Africa program is designed as a cohort-based accelerator for entrepreneurs working to restore degraded land across Africa, offering a combination of online and in-person training and mentorship. Phase One lasts three months and consists of weekly online training meetings, mentorship, and deliverable creation. Phase Two is an intensive week-long in-person workshop culminating in an Impact Day, where cohort companies present their solutions to the public and potential investors. The program has attracted nearly 3,000 applicants from across the continent, with 196 alumni from 34 countries who have together created over 9,000 jobs, supported nearly 250,000 farmers, and restored over 201,000 hectares of land.

The Top 100 land restoration entrepreneurs or enterprises selected will receive innovation grants of USD $5,000 each, funded by SIDA and AUDA-NEPAD, to boost women and youth entrepreneurs advancing restoration efforts in Africa. This initiative supports AFR100’s mission and raises Africa’s profile globally on land restoration efforts. Applications need to be submitted via the AUDA-NEPAD official portal with supporting documents by October 30, 2025.
