The Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) through its Ayurveda Startup Incubation Centre (ASIC) at CARI Bengaluru is inviting applications from innovative startups in the field of Ayurveda.
The focus areas for this initiative include supporting startups (Category I, II, III) that are registered under the Department of Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIT) or Startup India, and are actively working on products or services related to Ayurveda. The program aims to nurture innovative ideas and provide necessary guidance and resources for the growth of Ayurvedic startups.
Ayurvedic Sciences Incubation Centre (ASIC) is a Host-Institution led Incubation Centre for Ayush Startups established at the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS)-Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI), Bengaluru under the “Startup Incubation through Ayush Institution” scheme of the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, to support startups with innovative products or service ideas in Ayurveda by providing mentorship, funding, and regulatory guidance to entrepreneurs. It strives to provide a unique platform for aspiring entrepreneurs to engage in research and development of new products and services, commercialization of innovative solutions, and to foster technical and financial collaborations between academia and industry in Ayurveda. The initiative aims to build a thriving ecosystem of entrepreneurs, investors, mentors, and industry experts, enabling meaningful connections and collaborations that facilitate innovation and sustainable business growth.
The Central Ayurveda Research Institute (CARI), Bengaluru, a peripheral unit of the Central Council for Research in Ayurvedic Sciences (CCRAS) under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, has been actively engaged in clinical research with a focus on metabolic disorders and Ayurveda dietetics, drug standardization, and the survey of medicinal plants. In addition, the Institute provides quality healthcare services to the public through its NABH and NABL-accredited facilities. It is recognized as a Centre of Excellence in Madhumeha (Diabetes) by the Ministry of Ayush and designated as a Peripheral Pharmacovigilance Centre. The Institute also functions as the nodal centre for evaluation and monitoring of Ministry of Ayush-funded programmes and projects in Karnataka and neighboring states, and it is certified by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) under the IS/ISO 9001:2015 quality management standards.
Startups selected under this program will have the opportunity to access mentorship, technical support, and incubation facilities provided by ASIC CCRAS-CARI Bengaluru. This initiative encourages entrepreneurship, stimulates innovation in traditional medicine, and promotes the development of sustainable and effective Ayurvedic solutions. By bringing together aspiring entrepreneurs and experts in Ayurveda, the incubation centre seeks to create a supportive ecosystem where new ideas can flourish and contribute to the advancement of the Ayurvedic sector.
