Deadline: September 26, 2025
The AIM-AHEAD Bridge2AI AI-READI Training Program – Cohort 2 is now accepting applications for its 2025-26 cycle, offering U.S.-based researchers the opportunity to strengthen their expertise in advanced data analysis and the application of AI/ML to health data.
The focus of the program is to increase and expand AI-READI data access through engagement and training, including the use of AI/ML in analysis and a train-the-trainer model. AIM-AHEAD trainees will gain the skills to apply AI/ML methods to a wide range of data types, engage in innovative research at the intersection of AI/ML and preventable health differences, conduct hands-on training using the AI-READI dataset, and address pressing biomedical, social, and economic challenges.
The program will run for an 8-month period beginning on November 17, 2025, and is open to a cohort of up to 25 professionals, including graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, early-career faculty, healthcare professionals, and non-academic experts. Participants will receive a stipend of $8,000, along with $4,000 in travel allowances to attend both the 2026 AIM-AHEAD Annual Meeting and the Bridge2AI Annual Meeting.
Training will be delivered through workshops, mentorship, and project-based learning. Participants will work directly with experienced AIM-AHEAD mentors, receive support from the program’s Data Science Training Core, and engage in hands-on practice with R, Python, Jupyter Notebooks, and AI/ML model development. Trainees will also develop research proposals, abstracts, or manuscripts using AI-READI data, as well as present at major program events in 2026.
Applications must include a personal statement, letters of support, academic transcripts, and an NIH biosketch or CV. Candidates must be U.S. citizens, permanent residents, or non-citizen nationals and have at least a bachelor’s degree in fields such as physical sciences, life sciences, mathematics, engineering, data science, health sciences, or public health. Prior programming experience and basic knowledge of statistics are also required.
Applications are due by September 26, 2025, 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time. Selected applicants will be notified on November 10, 2025.
