Deadline Date: March 24, 2026
The Scaling Up for a Sustainable Battery Value Chain 2026 call for proposals, funded by Vinnova, aims to accelerate the development and industrial implementation of solutions that strengthen a sustainable battery value chain in Sweden.
The project should aim to develop, test and validate technology, products, methods, processes and/or business models on a larger scale.
This call for proposals finances projects that further develop and scale up solutions capable of contributing to a sustainable battery value chain in Sweden after implementation. By supporting testing and demonstration in real environments, the initiative seeks to promote industrial implementation and accelerate the commercialization of sustainable solutions.
Several initiatives are already underway to develop a Swedish sustainable battery value chain, many of which are currently in relatively early stages of development. With the right conditions, these initiatives can evolve into pilot and demonstration projects and ultimately be transformed into industrial solutions. Scaling up and testing concepts in real-world environments is considered a crucial step in minimizing risks, building acceptance, and enabling long-term market adoption.
The call has a total budget of approximately SEK 80 million. Funding is granted for up to 50 percent of a project’s eligible costs, with a maximum of SEK 20 million available per project. Projects may run for a maximum duration of 28 months.
The call is aimed at actor constellations that enable system change by covering the entire ecosystem and value chain. By encouraging collaboration across stakeholders, the initiative seeks to create the conditions necessary for a comprehensive and sustainable transformation of the battery value chain in Sweden.
