The VentureHUB Accelerator is RMIT University’s flagship social innovation accelerator designed to support founders developing technology-driven solutions to systemic social and environmental challenges.
The program focuses on social innovation ventures, system-change innovation, breakthrough technology solutions, impact-driven entrepreneurship, investment readiness, leadership development, venture scaling, mentorship and coaching, access to research and facilities, investor engagement, ecosystem collaboration, and alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
Delivered over 16 weeks, VentureHUB supports post-revenue or pilot-ready ventures led by committed RMIT-affiliated founders. The accelerator is structured to help ventures grow, scale, and contribute to meaningful system-level change by strengthening business capability and accelerating investment readiness.
The program provides equity-free funding supported by The Jacques Nasser Fund for Innovation. Selected participants receive a $15,000 grant, with $7,500 disbursed at entry and $7,500 upon successful completion of the program. Participants also have the opportunity to pitch for additional funding through the Activator Capital Fund grant pool.
VentureHUB offers structured support through personalised coaching, expert mentorship, and access to experienced founders, investors, and domain specialists. Through the Skalata Fellowship, founders gain investor insights and opportunities to connect with potential funders, helping strengthen their investment readiness and strategic growth planning.
The program also provides access to RMIT University’s research ecosystem, facilities, and curated industry partnerships. These resources are designed to help ventures validate their solutions, strengthen credibility, and accelerate commercial and social impact outcomes.
Eligibility for the program is limited to RMIT-affiliated founders who are building ventures based on validated innovations with demonstrated impact. Applicants must show evidence of traction such as paying customers, pilot programs, recurring users, early revenue, investment, or partnerships, and must be working toward product-market fit. At least one founder must be an RMIT student, staff member, or alumni with a majority ownership stake in the venture.
Founders are expected to demonstrate a strong commitment to growth, including full-time dedication or a clear pathway toward it. Participation also requires engagement in co-working activities at least two days per week. The program prioritizes ventures that are actively contributing to system-level change through scalable and evidence-based solutions.
