Deadline Date: March 31, 2026
The Uptown Grant Program is seeking applications to support formally aligned groups of local businesses, known as District Teams, in enhancing their district offerings and increasing consumer engagement within New South Wales.
The Program focuses on strengthening local business collaboration within districts, diversifying the consumer offering within districts, improving awareness of the unique identity of districts, and enhancing social, cultural, environmental, or economic outcomes for districts.
District Teams are eligible to apply for funding ranging from $100,000 to $120,000 (excl. GST) to coordinate and deliver new or enhanced collective initiatives within their local area. Eligible applicants must be an incorporated association, a company limited by guarantee, or a non-distributing co-operative, must have an Australian Business Number (ABN) registered in New South Wales, be registered for GST, have an Australian financial institution account, maintain at least eight registered members operating under different ABNs based in the district, be solvent, and be able to execute a funding deed with the NSW Government if successful.
Applicants must also provide a letter of support from a senior staff member of the relevant local council confirming support for the proposed initiatives and providing contact details for further inquiries. District Teams that have previously received funding in two or more rounds of the Uptown Grant Program are required to co-contribute at least 20% of the requested or final approved funding amount.
Entities that do not meet the eligibility requirements, are not registered under the specified entity types, or have already received government funding for the same scope of works are not eligible to apply. The Program aims to provide District Teams with the resources to collectively enhance their district offering and engage consumers, ultimately fostering more vibrant local business communities across New South Wales.
