Deadline Date: February 25, 2026
The U.S.–Israel Energy Center, in partnership with the BIRD Foundation, is launching an exciting new funding opportunity to support innovative binational energy projects.
This initiative aims to establish two new U.S.–Israel consortia focused on advancing solutions in energy storage, the energy–water nexus, and fossil energy.
Through this Call for Proposals, the Center will provide up to $12 million in joint support, with each selected consortium eligible for up to $6 million over three years, contingent on performance and approvals. Additional funding may be available for up to two more years. Required cost sharing ensures active collaboration between U.S. and Israeli partners.
Eligible applicants include companies, startups, research organizations, and academic institutions from both countries. An upcoming informational webinar, hosted by the BIRD Foundation, will provide guidance on the consortium model, application process, and insights from key stakeholders at the U.S. Department of Energy, Israel’s Ministry of Energy & Infrastructure, and the Israel Innovation Authority.
This funding opportunity underscores the Center’s mission to foster U.S.–Israel cooperation in energy technologies, emphasizing efficiency, reliability, affordability, and resilience, while supporting commercialization pathways that bring innovative solutions from concept to market.
