This funding call supports innovation and research projects that contribute to making transport and mobility solutions more efficient to meet society’s challenges in efficiency, equality, accessibility, and resilience.
The focus areas are innovation and research activities that contribute to streamlining transport and mobility solutions to meet society’s challenges in efficiency, accessibility, and resilience.
The offer includes pre-studies with a project duration of 6 to 9 months and maximum funding of SEK 500,000, and full-scale projects with durations up to 4 years. Co-financing from the business community must amount to at least 25 percent of the total project budget. The total grant budget is approximately SEK 45 million.
The program is part of the Automotive Strategic Research and Innovation (FFI) collaboration aimed at making Sweden a global leader in the transition to sustainable road transport. It focuses on developing transport and mobility solutions addressing climate challenges, equality and accessibility to transport services, and resilience of transport systems. Digitalization, new technologies such as AI and digital twins, and cybersecurity are key enablers. Projects should also integrate at least two system perspectives, including behavior and culture, business models and collaboration, regulations and standardization, infrastructure, and technology.
Eligible activities include developing, testing, and evaluating new solutions as well as preparing for their implementation, including industrial research, experimental development, and feasibility studies.
Applicants must be legal entities, with the coordinating party being a Swedish legal entity operating in Sweden. Projects require at least two parties, and proposals must demonstrate a clear plan for dissemination and utilization of results. Gender equality and the inclusion of diverse actors are important criteria in project evaluation.
Applications are assessed on potential, feasibility, actor composition, and gender equality by external independent evaluators. Funding levels vary based on organization size and activity type, with a maximum of 50% public funding for large companies and up to 70% for small businesses for feasibility studies.
Successful applicants will enter into a funding agreement and commit to reporting progress, costs, and results. Projects must participate in program seminars and acknowledge FFI support in publications.
