The Traceability Grants Program (TGP) is part of the Modernising Agricultural Trade – Protecting Australia’s Clean, Green Brand initiative and supports collaborative projects to implement activities under the National Agricultural Traceability Strategy 2023–2033.
The program focuses on better aligning processes and technologies for capturing and using data to support regulators and farmers, helping agricultural industries implement interoperable traceability systems, and strengthening awareness through communication and education campaigns. Round 4 of the Traceability Grants Program will award grants totalling AUD 4 million (GST exclusive), distributed as AUD 2 million in 2025–26 and AUD 2 million in 2026–27, with all grant activities expected to be completed by 30 June 2028. Applications opened on 13 January 2026 and must be submitted by 11:00 pm AEDT on 18 February 2026. The estimated grant value ranges from AUD 55,000 to AUD 550,000 per project.
Eligible applicants must have an Australian Business Number (ABN), be registered for GST, hold an account with an Australian financial institution, and fall under one of the following categories, either individually or as part of a joint (consortia) application led by an eligible organisation: a company incorporated in Australia, a company incorporated by guarantee, an incorporated trustee on behalf of a trust, an incorporated association, a partnership, a corporate or non-corporate Commonwealth entity or statutory authority, a corporate or non-corporate State or Territory entity or statutory authority, a local government entity, a not-for-profit organisation, a publicly funded research organisation, or an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Corporation registered under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006.
