The Technology Innovation Hub for Autonomous Navigation (TiHAN) at IIT Hyderabad is dedicated to advancing research, design, and development of autonomous navigation and data acquisition systems for UAVs, ROVs, and other autonomous vehicles.
By collaborating with both industry and academia, TiHAN aims to foster innovation and accelerate the deployment of cutting-edge autonomous technologies in real-world scenarios.
TiHAN is inviting startup proposals that align with its core thrust areas to develop autonomous solutions capable of addressing practical challenges across diverse sectors. The hub encourages innovative projects that can demonstrate measurable impact and contribute to the advancement of autonomous systems in India.
Proposals should clearly define the objectives and deliverables of the project, with a maximum description of 1,000 words. The duration of the proposed projects can be up to 12 months, allowing sufficient time to achieve the set goals while ensuring timely evaluation and results. Selected projects will be eligible for funding up to ₹15 lakh, providing financial support to accelerate research, development, and prototyping.
The primary thrust areas for project proposals include autonomous ground, aerial, and water vehicles, with applications in agriculture, defense, disaster management, infrastructure monitoring such as power lines, pipelines, and rail networks, surveillance across terrestrial, maritime, and aerial domains, and environmental monitoring of air, water, and industrial systems.
Technological focus areas of interest include AI and machine learning for navigation and sensory data aggregation, IoT and cyber-physical systems for Indian autonomous platforms, networking protocols such as DSRC and CV2X, edge computing for real-time sensor processing, robotics for smart mobility, swarm intelligence and autonomous coordination, control, power, and design for UAVs and ROVs, and connected aerial, underwater, and terrestrial vehicles.
Through this call for proposals, TiHAN seeks to accelerate the development of practical, scalable, and high-impact autonomous technologies, fostering innovation and collaboration that can transform multiple sectors while addressing real-world challenges.
