The SWEF Enterprise Fund offers financial support to young people in Northamptonshire who need assistance with business costs to help launch or grow their ventures.
The fund focuses on supporting young entrepreneurs who are not in education, employment, or training, helping them with essential business expenses, product development, website building, and training opportunities.
The main objectives of the SWEF Enterprise Fund are to provide start-up grants of up to £500 and business grants of up to £2,000 to young people aged 18 to 30 in Northamptonshire who are launching or running a new business that has been trading for under two years, while also providing a network for peer learning and experience sharing.
The grants are designed to help young entrepreneurs cover essential equipment or materials, develop their products, build their websites, and access training that can take their business to the next level. This support is offered as a non-repayable grant, meaning recipients do not need to pay the money back. By offering both financial assistance and a peer network, the fund aims to create a supportive environment for early-stage business development.
Applicants must have a business bank account or be in the process of setting one up, as grants are only paid into business accounts. The fund cannot be used for salaries, debt repayment, rent, utility bills, ongoing software subscriptions, or businesses involved in invasive aesthetic procedures. This ensures the focus remains on practical business growth rather than covering personal or operational costs.
