Deadline: November 14, 2025
The IDA Startup Grant is a unique opportunity for STEM startups in Denmark to gain financial support, visibility, and access to valuable networks.
The IDA Startup Grant celebrates the most promising STEM startups that translate new technology and knowledge into strong business ideas with great potential. In assessing the submitted applications, there will be a particular focus on Innovation, Potential, Execution, and Relevance. Innovation refers to developing solutions that do not already exist on the market. Potential emphasizes that the company must have the capability to become “the next big thing”. Execution requires the applicant to demonstrate that the team can realize the planned strategy. Relevance highlights that the company’s solutions relate to the STEM field (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics).
The IDA Startup Grant is a collaboration between IDA, Denmark’s largest academic union for technical and scientific professionals, and Heyfunding, a platform that connects startups with capital and investors. This grant offers DKK 25,000 to support startups that show promise in translating technological knowledge into impactful business solutions. IDA provides entrepreneurs with advice, services, and a strong presence in the Danish startup ecosystem, including initiatives such as the IDA Startup initiative, the Techtopia podcast, and the Technomania technology event.
Eligible applicants must be STEM startups with an active company registration (CVR number) at the time of application.
The selection process will identify five finalists, with one winner receiving DKK 25,000 and free PR exposure via IDA and Heyfunding. Applications are confidential and shared only with the selection committee, which will contact finalists directly no later than 14 days after the application deadline. Applicants can expect to see the announcement of the winner approximately four weeks after the deadline.
