Deadline: October 13, 2025
The Business Catalyst (Small) Grants offer £1,000 (including VAT) to support sole traders and small businesses in the UK jewellery, silversmithing and allied industries to grow and move to the next stage of development.
The focus areas include inclusivity and social mobility in the jewellery, silversmithing and allied industries, undertaking a formal mentoring programme, business consultancy or business diagnostic programme such as the Goldsmiths’ Centre’s, purchasing new equipment such as IT equipment, machinery and tools, developing new products or services such as new brand identity, website development or object photography, adopting new processes and new ways of working such as workshop adaptations or mentoring for new production processes or operations, demonstrating successful business growth through increased sales, productivity, profitability, creation of employment opportunities or improvement in business processes, and supporting applicants experiencing financial difficulty through dedicated funding evidenced by eligibility for government benefits.
The grant amount is £1,000 (including VAT), with 10 grants available per year, and applications will close on Monday, 13 October 2025, at 5pm. Funds must be used within 12 months of being received, with recipients required to submit a short report explaining the use and impact of the grant.
Applicants must be residents of the UK with a trading address and UK bank account in the exact name of application. Eligibility requires completion of a mentoring programme, business consultancy or business diagnostic programme, typically within the last 12 months. Businesses should generally have an annual turnover up to £75,000.
This opportunity is supported by philanthropic giving via the Goldsmiths’ Foundation, and previous recipients have used the grant to enhance their jewellery businesses with product development, marketing strategies, and workshop upgrades.
