The Starter Company Plus Grant provides an opportunity for eligible entrepreneurs to strengthen and grow their small businesses through financial support, mentoring, and training.
The focus areas include supporting eligible entrepreneurs looking to build their small businesses, providing training, mentoring and advice, and offering a micro-grant of $5,000 to assist with growth and expansion of their business.
Under the General Business Stream, the Starter Company Plus Grant program offers up to 15 hours of business training, a micro-grant of $5,000, and up to three months of advisory and mentoring services. The program runs in multiple streams throughout the year, ensuring that entrepreneurs have continuous opportunities to access business development resources.
Eligibility for this stream is open to entrepreneurs who are Canadian citizens or permanent residents aged 18 or older. Applicants must not be attending school or planning to return to school while enrolled in the program. They must devote a minimum of 35 hours per week to their small business and must not be employed elsewhere. Additionally, they should not be enrolled in any other government-funded employment program and must be residents of Toronto, with proof of a physical address.
