Deadline Date: January 14, 2026
The U.S. Department of Defense is supporting a grant program through the Ukrainian Defense Innovation Fund to aid the development and testing of advanced defense products.
The program allows eligible companies and individual entrepreneurs to receive funding for activities directly related to the creation of finished development products and their testing under combat conditions. Once developed and tested, these products are expected to be transferred to designated units of the security and defense forces.
The maximum grant amount available for a project is 8,000,000 hryvnias, providing substantial support for companies to bring their innovative defense solutions from concept to operational use. The program is specifically open to Ukrainian companies and individual entrepreneurs registered according to the established legal procedures. Applications from state or municipal enterprises, public organizations, or charitable organizations are not eligible.
Eligible expenses under the grant include business trips, marketing, rental of land, vehicles, buildings or other premises, as well as the purchase of vehicles, furniture, mobile phones, household appliances, fuel, and lubricants. Funding can also cover costs associated with the repair of premises. However, grants cannot be used to purchase weapons—except for prototypes or models—or to cover expenses already financed by other programs.
This initiative represents a unique opportunity for Ukrainian innovators to contribute to national defense while receiving significant financial support to test and deploy their technologies in real operational settings.
