The Social Procurement Initiative Fund aims to empower Sabah’s communities, entrepreneurs, and innovators to build an inclusive, creative, and sustainable future.
The objective of the Social Procurement Initiative Fund is to strengthen market access for Sabah-made social and creative products by supporting enterprises with branding, packaging, and marketing improvements. This initiative promotes local products for corporate and government procurement in line with Sabah State’s directive on sourcing from local entrepreneurs.
The fund provides support for product design and packaging improvements, branding and marketing materials, certification and quality assurance processes, and small-scale production support to meet corporate or bulk orders. However, it cannot be used for personal expenses, unrelated inventory not linked to the proposed product, or imported goods that are not locally produced in Sabah.
Applicants eligible for this funding include Sabah-based social enterprises, impact-driven businesses, or community enterprises with market-ready products. It is essential that applicants demonstrate a clear social or environmental mission alongside their commercial activities. They must also show the ability to produce at scale for bulk or corporate orders and ensure that the products are locally developed and produced in Sabah.
The application requirements consist of a completed application form, a company and product profile with supporting photos, product samples where applicable, a detailed budget outlining intended use of the grant, and a market access or expansion plan that highlights target customers and strategies.
