Deadline: 24-April-2026
The New South Wales Government is launching Round 4 of the Drive Electric NSW program to fund the development of fast and ultra-fast electric vehicle charging stations across the state.
The focus areas of this initiative include filling EV charging blackspots across regional and metropolitan New South Wales, overcoming range anxiety by developing a broad, visible, and accessible fast charging network, ensuring connectivity between metropolitan and regional areas, future-proofing the EV charging network beyond 2030, and supporting projects that would not otherwise proceed without funding.
This grant round aims to enable charge point operators to build, own, and operate fast and ultra-fast charging stations throughout New South Wales. By expanding the charging network, the program seeks to improve accessibility and reliability of EV infrastructure, encouraging greater adoption of electric vehicles across both urban and regional areas. The initiative plays a key role in strengthening transport connectivity while addressing infrastructure gaps that currently limit EV usage.
The program is administered by the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water and offers funding of up to $20,000,000. Eligible applicants include entities incorporated under the Corporations Act 2001 (Cth), as well as state-owned corporations or subsidiaries of Australian state or territory-owned corporations. Through targeted investment, the program supports the development of a more resilient and accessible EV charging network across the state.
