Deadline Date: March 15, 2026
The International Labour Organization is seeking proposals to support local private sector recovery in Herat Province by providing technical and financial assistance to viable micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) operating in crisis-affected areas.
The program focuses on MSMEs that can create or sustain decent jobs for women, recent returnees, and vulnerable groups, contribute to market recovery in earthquake-affected communities, demonstrate potential for growth, resilience, and improved working conditions, and are ready to integrate Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work (FPRW), Occupational Safety and Health (OSH), and child labour prevention standards into their operations. Priority is given to MSMEs based in Kushk district or those outside Kushk that can establish a sustainable base to support livelihoods for households in Kushk, women-led or women-owned enterprises, and MSMEs that have not previously received financial support.
The initiative will provide seed capital grants of up to USD 3,000 per selected enterprise. Financial support is contingent on passing the full selection process, PAC review, and due diligence verification, and is not guaranteed upon application.
Eligible applicants must be formally registered and operating in Herat Province, with priority for women-led or women-owned businesses or those employing women, demonstrate basic operational capacity and willingness to continue operations, and propose activities that directly or indirectly benefit earthquake-affected people, returnees, and other vulnerable groups.
