The Science for Industry Call 2026 is offering to support collaborative projects between companies and research organizations to translate scientific knowledge into industrial innovation and economic value.
The program focuses on innovative collaborations in the Life Sciences and Health sector, translation of scientific knowledge into industry-driven solutions, strengthening economic competitiveness, expanding research and development capacity, and generating societal impact.
Health Holland has allocated at least €5 million in Public Private Partnership (PPP) subsidy to support projects under this call. The initiative enables consortia to advance the development of innovative products and services by applying scientific knowledge and methodologies to clearly defined industry challenges. It is designed to accelerate research and development activities within the Netherlands while fostering collaboration between industry and research institutions.
Each project can request funding between €500,000 and €1,200,000 in PPP subsidy. The call is open to consortia consisting of at least one company based in the Netherlands, acting as the main applicant, and one Dutch research organization. While Dutch micro-SMEs may participate as partners, they are not eligible to serve as the main applicant. Other stakeholders such as healthcare providers, patient organizations, and foundations are also encouraged to join consortia and contribute to project activities.
Eligible projects must address a concrete research and development challenge originating from the main applicant and focus on developing marketable products and services. The majority of R&D activities must take place within the Netherlands, and Dutch enterprises and research organizations must incur at least 80% of their personnel costs within the country. The main applicant must be a for-profit company established in the Netherlands and is required to submit a “No Undertaking in Difficulty” declaration as part of the application. Consortia must also use the provided agreement template, including provisions related to intellectual property, with only minimal modifications allowed.
