Deadline Date: February 24, 2026
The Dutch Film Fund is currently accepting applications for Talentscope Program to support emerging directors who have already proven themselves with a recent short or feature film and are ready to develop their first or second feature-length project.
Through this initiative, entire creative teams—including a director, (co-)writer, and producer—receive the opportunity to further develop their new feature film projects with professional guidance and support.
Directors are eligible if their previous work has had demonstrable impact. This can include films selected for national or international festivals, audience success in cinemas, or, for television directors, nomination of a drama series for a Golden Calf in the Best Drama Series category. TalentScope welcomes projects across all segments of the feature film category (over 60 minutes), from groundbreaking arthouse cinema and crossovers to animation and genre films, as long as the project demonstrates a strong directorial signature, bold design, and international ambition.
The program offers various contributions to support the development process. These include up to €35,000 for screenwriting, €10,500 for a co-writing director, €5,000 for directing work, €7,500 each for the director and screenwriter to participate in TalentScope, and €12,000 for the producer’s participation. Additional support of up to €2,500 is available for translation and other costs, and for long animated films, €10,000 is provided for concept art, character development, and storyboarding.
Applications must be submitted by a production company—not a sole proprietorship or general partnership—established for at least two years in the Netherlands, EU member states, EEA countries, or Switzerland. The company should have a proven track record of producing and distributing films or audiovisual productions. The producer representing the company must demonstrate professional experience in feature film or animated production, while junior producers are expected to have sufficient expertise to contribute creatively and substantively to the project development.
TalentScope provides a unique opportunity for emerging filmmakers to bring bold, innovative feature film projects to life while gaining professional mentorship, financial support, and industry connections to reach both national and international audiences.
