The Council for Australian-Arab Relations Grant Round supports initiatives that strengthen political, economic and social ties between Australia and the Arab world.
The focus areas of this opportunity are the aim of the Council for Australian-Arab Relations is to broaden and strengthen Australian-Arab relations by advancing areas of shared political, economic, and social interest and building a greater appreciation of each other’s cultures and values, the CAAR Grant Round for financial year 2025-26 offering one year funding to successful applicants who will receive a share of the total grant funding of $430,000, the Australian Government announcing a total of $430,000 in the 2025-26 financial year for the CAAR 2025-26 Grant Round, the grant opportunity running from DAY MONTH 2025 to DAY MONTH 2025, the minimum grant amount being $20,000, the maximum grant amount being $60,000, applicants being required to apply for funding amounts closest to the nearest $1,000, co-contribution from applicants and other parties being permitted.
The eligibility requirement that applicants must have an Australian Business Number, be registered for GST, be a permanent resident of Australia, have an account with an Australian financial institution and be one of the listed eligible entity types including companies incorporated in Australia, companies incorporated by guarantee, incorporated trustees on behalf of a trust, incorporated associations, partnerships, joint consortia applications with a lead organisation, registered charities or not-for-profit organisations, individuals, Australian local government bodies, Australian state or territory government bodies, Corporate Commonwealth Entities and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporations registered under the Corporations Act.
This grant program provides Australian entities with an opportunity to deepen engagement with Arab nations through initiatives that highlight shared interests and support strengthened bilateral relationships. Funded activities may span cultural understanding, social cooperation, economic collaboration, or projects that create new opportunities for meaningful exchange. With funding available for a single-year delivery period, applicants can focus on targeted, high-impact projects that align with the purpose of enhancing cross-cultural appreciation and cooperation.
Applicants must propose projects that can be successfully delivered within the year-long timeframe of the grant. The structure of the funding, with a minimum and maximum amount defined, allows applicants to plan activities that are financially feasible while remaining aligned with the intent of the grant round. The availability of co-contributions offers flexibility for organisations wishing to expand the scale of their initiatives.
Eligibility for the CAAR Grant Round is broad, enabling a diverse range of entities to participate. Australian organisations, government bodies, academic institutions, not-for-profit groups and individuals can apply, provided they meet the residency, registration and financial requirements. Joint applications also allow collaborations between multiple parties under a lead applicant, supporting wider engagement and shared project delivery.
