Deadline Date: November 28, 2025
The City of Port Adelaide Enfield’s Business Activation Grant supports local businesses and creative practitioners to activate spaces and energize key community events through arts and culture-driven activities.
Focus Areas: Activate local places and spaces with creative programming, supporting the development of the region as a destination for arts and culture. Demonstrate collaboration between business, arts, community and Council. Enable businesses to deliver activities that drive visitation, connect community and showcase the City of PAE. Support creative practitioners to deliver arts-based performances or workshops.
The Business Activation Grants program aligns with the City of PAE’s Arts & Culture Strategy and Creative Port Plan, designed to encourage businesses to collaborate with performers and creative professionals to generate vibrancy around major local events. Grants open in the lead-up to specific large-scale Council events and are not offered year-round, ensuring alignment with strategic community celebrations.
Eligible applicants must be legal entities with an active ABN, hold $20 million in public liability insurance, operate within the PAE area, and have no outstanding debts with the Council. Proposed activations must be accessible, inclusive, and open to the public, with preference given to free or low-cost activities that occur within or near designated event zones. Examples of suitable activations include live music, creative workshops, pop-up exhibitions, markets, comedy performances, and footpath activations, subject to relevant permits.
Grants of up to $1,000 are available to fund activities that are additional to regular programming or expand existing offerings. While matched funding is not required, all projects must comply with grant terms, including acquittal of funds within two months of completion and reimbursement of any unspent amounts.
Applications are reviewed by City of PAE staff through an eligibility and assessment process, with evaluation based on community benefit, alignment with Council events, and effective activation planning. Applicants achieving 60% or higher in the assessment criteria will be considered for funding.
The City encourages early engagement with the Events Team before submission to ensure proposals meet program expectations and logistical requirements. Any changes in project scope after funding approval must be resubmitted for reassessment, maintaining transparency and alignment with Council objectives.
