Deadline: Ongoing
The B.C. Employer Training Grant (ETG) supports skills training to address provincial labour market needs and is delivered by the Province of British Columbia with funding from the Government of Canada through the Workforce Development Agreement (WDA).
The goal of the ETG program is to help British Columbians access the skill development training they need to adapt to the changing requirements of jobs and the labour market while encouraging employer involvement in the training of their employees.
The program provides access to training grants for up to 80% of eligible costs, covering a maximum of $10,000 per trainee receiving third-party training, with the possibility of securing up to $300,000 per fiscal year. Businesses and organizations located in British Columbia that meet program requirements are eligible to apply.
Training must be relevant to the immediate needs of the business and the participant’s job, ensuring a direct impact for the trainee as well as the organization. Employers can submit applications on an ongoing basis, and funding decisions are generally made within 60 business days of submission.
With hundreds of applications supported annually, the B.C. Employer Training Grant has become a reliable resource for businesses seeking to strengthen their workforce while aligning with industry and labour market demands.
