The Events Grant, part of the Events on Redlands Coast Program, supports organisations in delivering multiyear, medium-scale events that benefit the broader Redland Coast community.
The program focuses on creating vibrant community experiences that bring people together and celebrate culture, strengthening community connections through inclusive participation and engagement, and delivering local economic and social benefits by attracting visitors and showcasing local businesses in ways that support the community and its economy.
The grant offers financial assistance to organisations planning events that contribute to community engagement and economic activity in the region. Applicants may request up to $20,000 per financial year for a period of up to three years, supporting events that create memorable shared experiences and encourage broader participation within the community. Outcomes of applications are provided to applicants within eight weeks of the grant closure date.
Funding is available for a variety of community-focused activities that enhance engagement and economic development. These include festivals, trade fairs, conferences, and summits that attract visitors and increase local spending, as well as events promoting local businesses, products, or industries. Business expos and networking events that support economic development, innovation and entrepreneurship events, and music festivals or concerts may also be supported under the program.
To be eligible for funding, applicants must be not-for-profit incorporated entities or organisations registered under an Act of Parliament. Applicants must hold an active ABN or complete a Statement by a Supplier form, be operating and financially viable, maintain public liability insurance of $20 million, and have a bank account in the name of the legal entity. The funded event must be delivered within Redland City. Only one successful application per year is permitted, and applicants submitting multiple applications for the same project across council programs may be required to choose a single application for consideration. Organisations that have received funding for three consecutive years may be less likely to be prioritised.
Certain applicants are not eligible for funding, including individuals, government or semi-government organisations such as hospitals and libraries, schools and education institutions including P&Cs, and childcare or after-school care providers. Religious or industry peak bodies may only be considered if the project demonstrates clear community benefits beyond the organisation’s membership.
