Open Call: Supporting the Innovation Capacity of SMEs (Hungary)

Deadline: 23 September 2025

Under the Széchenyi Plan Plus, a call for proposals has been launched under the title “Supporting the innovation capacity of SMEs.

Funding Information

  • The total budget available for funding is HUF 75,000 million.
  • Available funding: minimum HUF 20,000,000 – maximum HUF 50,000,000
  • Project duration: 18 months

Eligible Activities

  • Eurostat data show that the share of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Hungary that have introduced business process innovation is low. Only 21.2% of Hungarian SMEs (those employing more than 10 people) have introduced business process innovation, according to the (latest) data for 2020-2022 of the Hungarian Central Statistical Office (HCSO), while the EU average was 41.2% in this period, leaving them 20 percentage points behind and ranking them 25th in the EU. No significant progress has been identified in this field in recent years (2016: 17.5 %, 2018: 19%, 2020: 23.5%, 2022: 21.2%), which is why it is important to support Hungarian SMEs in their business process innovation. In this context, they provide funding for:
    • production and manufacturing process innovation activities;
    • marketing and/or sales innovation activities;
    • organisational innovation activities (administrative and management development); and
    • logistics innovation activities.

Beneficiary Groups

  • Enterprise (non-research type)

Place of implementation

  • The whole territory of Hungary

Eligibility Criteria

  • Micro and small enterprises are eligible to apply for funding under this call for proposals. This call is not open to consortia.
