The Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry is inviting applications under a demand-driven process to deliver services through the Forestry Industry – Support Plantation Establishment Program.
The objectives of the program are to increase future plantation forest resources available for processing, as well as for plantation forest management, harvesting and haulage employment, support private industry, First Nations businesses, farm foresters and state and territory forestry bodies to expand the Australian plantation forest estate, and contribute to meeting Australia’s carbon emission reduction targets, including under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, and the Kyoto Protocol to the Climate Change Convention.
Applications for Round 3, Batch 5 are open now and will close at 4:00 pm AEST on 24 September 2025. Applicants must not have planted trees before submission as part of their project and cannot include any activities undertaken before the earliest activity start date of February 2026 for this batch.
Eligible applicants include companies, cooperatives, corporate state or territory entities, incorporated associations, Indigenous corporations, partnerships, and sole traders. They must hold an ABN, be Australian citizens or permanent residents, and maintain an account with an Australian financial institution.
Applications will be assessed within 5 weeks of closing, with notifications provided within 9 weeks and grants awarded within 13 weeks. Successful projects may begin from February 2026, with the end date defined in the grant agreement.
Submissions must be made online through GrantConnect, including all required documents and eligibility details. Late applications will automatically be considered for Batch 6, due on 5 November 2025.
