Deadline Date: March 02, 2026
STREAMING is inviting organizations from Africa and Europe to apply for its Open Call for Knowledge Transfer to fund digital training projects that strengthen sustainable food trade systems.
The focus areas of this call include traceability within the food supply chain, life cycle assessment of food products, sustainable farming systems, nutritional requirements, reducing micronutrient deficiencies, food waste reduction, food safety, and scaling innovations in the food supply chain. The Knowledge Transfer Grant specifically supports the creation of interactive, practice-oriented digital courses covering sustainable food systems and nutrition. These courses should include innovative learning tools such as interactive videos, process descriptions, applications notes, and recipes, with practical examples enabling users to apply the latest sustainability developments from farm to retail. Courses targeting public health and nutrition aim to reduce malnutrition and improve health outcomes in African communities.
STREAMING addresses the challenges faced by African and global food systems, including climate change, population growth, conflicts, inadequate logistics, and complex trade regulations, by fostering innovative solutions and entrepreneurial skills among farmers, women, students, researchers, and other stakeholders. The project connects research with practice through networking platforms, innovation hubs, startup scouting, hackathons, and mentoring programs, while emphasizing awareness of alternative protein sources, local crops, and animal welfare.
A total of €275,000 is available to fund up to eleven grants, with a maximum of €25,000 per grant. Eligible applicants must comply with Horizon Europe guidelines and the specific conditions for Financial Support to Third Parties under EU Regulation 2021/695. Certain entities are excluded from applying, including legal entities established in Russia, Belarus, or non-government-controlled territories of Ukraine, entities subject to EU restrictive measures, or those under specific Union budget protection measures in Hungary. Eligible Third Parties include research institutions and universities; NGOs and industry partners; innovation hubs, business schools, and vocational colleges; as well as consortia across Africa and Europe.
Applicants should ensure their projects provide high-quality, accessible, and practical knowledge transfer materials that address gaps in the consortium’s current expertise and strengthen stakeholder capacity in their regions. STREAMING encourages the inclusion of vulnerable groups and emphasizes fairness, transparency, and competitiveness in the selection process.
