Open Call for M Ventures Product Innovation Track (Cohort 2)

Deadline Date: November 21, 2025

M Ventures is an innovative enterprise support initiative by the UN Sanitation and Hygiene Fund (SHF) under its Capital M initiative, implemented by Bopinc, designed to support menstrual health enterprises to overcome market barriers and unlock their full commercial and impact potential.

The focus areas of M Ventures include supporting innovation, strengthening business models, and fostering market readiness to transform menstrual health markets by expanding the diversity of menstrual product categories widely available on the market so that every menstruator can access products that meet their distinct needs, preferences, and aspirations.

Enterprises selected for M Ventures receive a unique combination of funding, technical assistance, and peer learning to develop, test, or refine their product. Each selected enterprise will receive a product innovation workshop, tailored technical assistance, catalytic grant funding of up to USD 30,000 for prototype development, product research, or refinement, and access to a peer learning network. The initiative also provides opportunities for market connections through stakeholder “speed dating,” expert learning sessions from industry leaders, and collective learning events for enterprises facing similar challenges.

This combination of capacity building, catalytic funding, bespoke support, and peer collaboration is designed to accelerate each enterprise’s journey toward scalable, sustainable growth. Enterprises in the Product Innovation Track will receive targeted support to strengthen the quality and production of menstrual health products. The focus areas for this cohort include prototyping and testing new or improved products, refining existing product designs, enhancing product performance, safety, or user experience, optimizing manufacturing processes for efficiency and quality, and sourcing sustainable and reliable raw materials.

Eligibility criteria require applicants to be legally registered for-profit entities actively working in menstrual health and hygiene in one of the target countries—Kenya, Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda, or Tanzania—or demonstrate a time-bound expansion plan to one of these countries. Applicants must have a minimum viable product launched with first sales generated, a dedicated and skilled team, and a commitment to participate fully in the program’s workshops, coaching, and peer learning activities. Enterprises should offer reusable or biodegradable/compostable solutions or commit to piloting such solutions using the catalytic funding.
