Deadline Date: December 29, 2025
EIT Food has announced a new call to select a laboratory service provider capable of supporting its upcoming soil monitoring activities scheduled for early 2026.
This work forms part of a long-term effort to gather high-quality data on soil health as regenerative agriculture initiatives expand across Europe. While the contract initially covers the 2026 analysis period, there is potential for the service to be extended for additional years depending on project needs.
The laboratory services fall within the broader objectives of EIT Food’s Regenerative Innovation Portfolio, developed in collaboration with Food Valley. One of the key initiatives under this portfolio is the creation of regenerative landscapes across Europe, including the Lower Silesia 360° project. Running from 2025 to 2028, the project aims to engage up to 200 farmers and cover 20,000 hectares of farmland. It focuses on four essential crops—sugar beets, malting barley, wheat and oilseed rape—while gathering reliable data to measure progress in soil regeneration across the region.
Selected laboratories will be responsible for conducting a series of detailed soil analyses. These include measurements of bulk density, coarse fragment ratio using the volumetric approach when possible, whole sample dry weight and corer or sampler volume, which is essential for calculating bulk density. Accurate physical soil property data is critical for assessing the health and long-term regenerative potential of agricultural landscapes. The budget allocated for this call is up to €60,000, with final costs determined by the number and type of samples required.
To be eligible, applicants must meet several criteria. At least one participating entity must be legally incorporated in Poland for a minimum of two years and provide a valid PIC number. All soil analyses must be conducted within Poland, and the laboratory performing them must also be located in the country. Applications must be written in English, include all mandatory documentation and be submitted on time through the myEITFood Portal.
This call offers a significant opportunity for qualified Polish laboratories to contribute to Europe’s transition toward regenerative agriculture by generating valuable scientific insights that will support healthier soils, stronger crop systems and more sustainable farming landscapes.
