Deadline Date: May 19, 2026
The European Commission is inviting grant applications to support the integration and performance assessment of hydrogen-powered aircraft concepts, advancing sustainable aviation technologies.
Focus areas include the integration and coordination of fully electric hydrogen fuel cell powered aircraft and direct hydrogen combustion propulsion aircraft concepts introduced in the CAJU SRIA, development of a comprehensive aircraft concept at TRL4, demonstration of the viability of the aircraft concept, and delivery of performance, emissions, and maturity assessments.
The project aims to evaluate the practical implementation of hydrogen propulsion technologies by combining key technology projects into a single aircraft framework. Through TRL4 demonstrations, the initiative will provide critical insights into performance efficiency, emission reduction potential, and technological maturity, helping to shape the roadmap for hydrogen-powered aviation.
With a total funding allocation of €329,500,000, the initiative is open to a broad range of participants globally. Eligible entities include any legal entity, regardless of location, including organisations from non-associated third countries and international organisations, provided they meet the requirements set by the Horizon Europe Regulation and specific conditions of the call.
Participants may include natural or legal persons recognized under national, EU, or international law, capable of exercising rights and obligations or operating without legal personality, encouraging global collaboration in advancing hydrogen aviation technologies.
