Deadline Date: January 10, 2026
The Green Enterprise Transformation Fund (GETF) supports private sector-led enterprises in Malawi to implement scalable green business models that address critical environmental and sustainability challenges.
The focus areas for this funding window include waste management solutions, technologically advanced soil conservation, biodiversity conservation and restoration, green financial solutions, crop and seed technologies, livestock and fisheries technologies, eco-tourism and nature-based enterprises, digital green solutions, and e-mobility and green transport.
To qualify for GETF funding, applicants must be legally registered for-profit companies operating in Malawi, possess a proven track record and operational capacity to implement the proposed project, request a grant between $40,000 and $300,000, and commit matching funds equal to at least 30% of the total project cost (with a maximum of 10% in-kind). Projects must clearly outline the projected environmental and social benefits, submit all required information on environmental impact and mitigation plans, and ensure that at least 30% of project participants—as producers, suppliers, or end-users—are women or youth.
Window 2 Round 3 is implemented with continued support from the German Development Cooperation through KfW Development Bank, and is informed by findings that show strong private sector engagement in green innovations such as green financial services, soil conservation, biodiversity restoration, and green energy. GETF invites applicants to propose commercial green business solutions that contribute to environmental sustainability, social inclusion, and economic growth in Malawi.
