Deadline Date: January 20, 2026
The Ministry of Culture of Greece has introduced an exciting funding opportunity under the digital cultural initiative for 2026, aimed at supporting the intersection of culture and digital innovation.
This call invites non‑profit cultural organisations to develop projects that leverage technology to create, enhance, or disseminate cultural content. With the increasing role of digital tools in artistic expression, education, and cultural preservation, this initiative provides a platform for artists, cultural institutions, and creative collectives to explore new forms of engagement, reach wider audiences, and bring contemporary Greek culture into the digital era.
Funds are available in several grant categories — €10,000, €20,000, or €30,000 — depending on the scope, technological needs, duration and potential reach of the proposal. Organisations must be registered in the National Registry of Cultural Actors and satisfy documentation requirements including recent artistic and financial reports (if previously active), or — for new entities — a 2026 operational plan.
Eligible organisations include legal entities of public or private law with non‑profit and cultural or charitable objectives, established by 30 June 2025. In cases of collaboration, the main implementing body must submit the proposal; if a foreign partner is involved, a Greek entity must lead the submission.
The call supports projects ranging from fully digital native productions to technological applications for cultural heritage, such as virtual or augmented reality tours, interactive storytelling, digital exhibitions, gamified cultural content, educational digital materials, accessibility‑oriented applications for special audiences, and digitization of archives. Essentially, any project combining culture and modern digital media can apply — from interactive VR museum experiences to culturally inspired video games, digital art, multimedia storytelling, and educational platforms using cultural content.
This opportunity reflects a commitment to digital transformation of cultural production in Greece, encouraging novel forms of artistic expression and alternative cultural models. It aims to support emerging artists and cultural groups, foster inclusive access to culture for young people and vulnerable communities, strengthen regional cultural activity beyond major cities, and enhance the visibility of contemporary Greek digital culture both domestically and internationally.
For cultural institutions, artists or creative collectives ready to combine heritage, art and technology, this call represents a unique chance to secure backing, turn innovative ideas into reality and contribute to reshaping cultural engagement in the digital age.
