Deadline Date: May 19, 2026
The European Commission is requesting grant applications to support the development and demonstration of advanced noise-reducing technologies for propulsion systems in next-generation ultra-efficient SMR aircraft.
Focus areas include the development and demonstration of advanced noise-reducing and lightweight technologies for UHBR propulsion systems, maturation of distortion-tolerant fan and intake solutions, improved and validated aero-acoustic modelling at TRL5, and achieving cumulative noise reduction alongside structural weight benefits for the Ultra-Efficient SMR aircraft concept.
The project aims to enhance propulsion system performance by integrating innovative noise-reduction solutions with lightweight design approaches. By advancing fan and intake technologies and validating aero-acoustic models, the initiative seeks to improve both operational efficiency and environmental performance of future aircraft.
With a total funding allocation of €329,500,000, the opportunity is open to a wide range of participants globally. Eligible entities include any legal entity, regardless of location, including organisations from non-associated third countries and international organisations, provided they meet the requirements outlined under the Horizon Europe Regulation and the specific conditions of the call.
Participants may include natural or legal persons recognised under national, EU, or international law, capable of exercising rights and obligations or operating without legal personality, enabling broad international collaboration in advancing next-generation aviation technologies.
