The Czech humanitarian organization People in Need, with financial support from Switzerland through the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, is offering microgrants to support training, entrepreneurship, and small business adaptation for vulnerable individuals in the Mykolaiv region.
The focus areas of the project include providing financial support for individuals with limited economic opportunities to undergo training or retraining, supporting low-income individuals planning to start entrepreneurial activities, and assisting micro and small enterprises that employ vulnerable individuals to ensure critical adaptation and increase inclusivity. Priority is given to persons with disabilities, internally displaced persons, single mothers, fathers, or guardians, people of pre-retirement age (50+) or older (60+), representatives of ethnic minorities, and veterans.
The grants are available in three categories: up to 2,000 USD for individuals seeking training or retraining for up to three months, up to 4,000 USD for individuals planning to start entrepreneurial activities, and up to 5,000 USD for micro and small enterprises employing vulnerable individuals. The exact grant amount will be determined based on the submitted application and the reasonableness of the proposed budget.
Eligible participants include local residents or internally displaced persons living in the targeted communities of Bashtansk urban territorial community, Snihurivska urban territorial community, Bereznehuvatsk settlement territorial community, Zavodska (Pervomaiska) settlement territorial community, and Shevchenkovska rural territorial community. Applicants must be low-income individuals who have lost their jobs or businesses due to the war, are seeking to change their profession through retraining, or are ready to conduct business activities in the target communities. All applicants must have reached the age of majority (18 years).
Individuals aiming to start a business must not currently have legal entity registration or an individual entrepreneur (IEP) registration, and they must be prepared to officially register their business within the project’s target communities. Grants for enterprises focus on helping micro and small businesses adapt to current challenges while promoting inclusivity and support for vulnerable employees.
