Deadline Date: February 09, 2026
The United Nations World Food Programme (UNWFP) and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in collaboration with the NGO “Southern Development Strategy” (SDS), and funded by the Embassy of France in Ukraine, are implementing a micro-grant program to assist local businesses in crop and livestock production that are looking to expand, improve, or start their activities from scratch.
The project focuses on providing financial and educational resources to help producer households in the Zaporizhia region, specifically in the Petro-Mykhailivska and Shyrokivska communities, restore, enhance, or grow their economic activities. It aims to help those who have been directly affected by the war, such as displaced individuals or those whose property and markets have been disrupted. The support package includes grants, business education, and mentoring for selected applicants.
The key support offered by the program includes grants of up to $1,500 to start or enhance a business related to crop and livestock production. Applicants must attend a mandatory two-day business school, where they will receive guidance on improving their business plans, developing entrepreneurial activities, and learning techniques for effective business strategy optimization. Additionally, mentoring support will be provided to help grantees with tax, accounting, logistics, planning, and sales.
Eligible applicants are individual entrepreneurs or households involved in small-scale production and sales, particularly those directly affected by the war. Applicants must live and operate within the project’s target communities and agree to undergo training at the business school. All expenses related to attending the business school are covered by the program.
This opportunity is specifically for individuals who have not participated in other FAO or WFP projects or received agricultural development grants from other organizations in the last six months.
