The Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and Incubation at the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (CEDI-NITT) has launched the MeitY GENESIS Scheme to empower early-stage tech-driven startups in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities across India by providing structured support and funding opportunities.
Focus Areas: Electronic design & manufacturing, deeptech software and product, ICT space. Using the following technology: AI/ML, IOT, VLSI/Semiconductor, cybersecurity, blockchain, quantum computing, AR/VR/spatial.
The MeitY GENESIS Scheme under the Entrepreneur in Residence (EiR) program is designed to support innovative startups that leverage emerging technologies to develop scalable products. The initiative focuses on enabling entrepreneurs to bring their ideas to market efficiently by providing mentorship, technical guidance, and financial support.
Startups selected under this scheme can access funding of up to Rs. 10 Lakhs, which can be utilized to accelerate product development, validate business models, and expand operations. The program particularly encourages participation from entrepreneurs based in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities, fostering regional innovation and inclusivity in India’s technology ecosystem.
CEDI-NITT, known for its robust incubation and entrepreneurship support framework, aims to nurture startups that specialize in electronic design and manufacturing, deeptech software and products, and ICT solutions.
