The “Lively Neighborhood” promotion program is requesting applications to enhance local services, revitalize neighborhoods, and create attractive, economically and socially vibrant city areas for residents.
The main objectives of the program include improving the quality, quantity, and variety of products and services through a balanced mix of industries, enhancing the appearance of business premises on the ground floor to improve quality of life, implementing digitalization measures to boost competitiveness, visibility, efficiency, and customer loyalty, revitalizing vacant business premises through establishment, relocation, or takeover of businesses, achieving economic effects such as job creation, increased sales, and location stability, promoting business collaborations and community initiatives that add value to the neighborhood, and supporting economically and ecologically sustainable investments and business models.
The program provides funding of up to 20,000 euros per company, with a minimum project size of 7,500 euros and a maximum project duration of two years. Eligible participants include small businesses with fewer than 50 employees as well as founders operating in ground floor retail premises with regular customer traffic.
Eligible costs cover structural measures to make business premises more attractive, including facade improvements, insulation, glazing, flooring, doors, portals, sanitary and electrical installations, and accessibility modifications such as ramps. Investments in equipment and machinery, inventory and ordering systems, business equipment, digitalization of processes, outdoor seating areas, lighting, sun protection, and ventilation systems are also supported. Ineligible costs include rent, operating costs, taxes, public fees, financing costs, purchase of land or buildings, compensation payments, and small-scale operating or business equipment such as cutlery or dishes.
