The House of Europe offers an opportunity for Ukrainian professionals in culture, education, youth work, and media to receive funding for international travel to the EU and the UK to enhance their professional development.
This initiative aims to foster professional and creative exchange by supporting individual trips that contribute to personal growth and sectoral development.
The grants provide up to 4000 EUR for travels scheduled between February and May 2026, with the purpose of attending conferences, conducting research, internships, and meetings with international partners.
The program is designed to support Ukrainian citizens who are of full age, residing in Ukraine (excluding temporarily occupied territories), and holding a biometric passport or able to obtain a visa. Applicants can be professionals working across various sectors, including culture and creative industries, education and youth work, and media. The initiative specifically targets managers, curators, cultural operators, researchers, artists, architects, teachers, journalists, and other related professionals. These grants aim to provide targeted support for these sectors by financing travel, accommodation, visas, insurance, and participation fees for relevant events.
Participants can travel to broaden their knowledge, present and discuss their work, conduct research, participate in internships, attend international events like festivals and conferences, and meet with partners for project planning. The travel must be continuous and is limited to a period of 5 to 28 days, with the potential for the grant to cover various expenses such as transportation and accommodation based on calculated distances and durations. The goal is to ensure that the trip is flexible and tailored to the individual’s professional needs.
Applications are evaluated based on motivation, professional relevance, planning, long-term impact, and alignment with the objectives of the House of Europe. Successful applicants will need to submit a report within two weeks after their trip, including a narrative, photos, and expense proof, in order to receive the second installment of the grant fund.
This initiative also emphasizes transparency and compliance with legal and tax obligations. Applicants can apply as natural persons, sole proprietors, or in collaboration with organizations, each with specific tax and registration conditions. The grants aim to boost cross-cultural and professional collaboration, with a particular focus on fostering ties between Ukrainian professionals and their counterparts in European countries and the UK.
