The Innobooster programme offers grants to Danish SMEs for high-risk, innovative, knowledge-driven development projects.
The programme focuses on significantly risk-laden, challenge-driven, and innovative knowledge-based development activities, aiming to reduce the extraordinary risk companies assume by undertaking these projects.
The Innobooster grant provides funding ranging from DKK 200,000 to DKK 5 million, covering up to 35% of a project’s total costs, with the remaining costs borne by the company itself.
Eligible applicants include Danish companies with a valid CVR number at the time of application, whether public-limited (A/S), private limited (ApS), or privately owned companies. Applicants must qualify as SMEs under the European Commission’s definition, meaning fewer than 250 employees and either an annual turnover of no more than EUR 50 million or a total annual balance of no more than EUR 43 million. For companies affiliated with a larger group, the SME criteria apply to the entire group.
Innobooster projects must be undertaken solely by the applicant company, which will retain the business-related benefits generated by the project. Affiliated companies are not considered part of the applicant company for the purposes of this programme.
