Deadline Date: June 30, 2026
The Inland River Flood Freight is seeking applications to support primary producers impacted by the 2025 floods with transport and freight costs for animal welfare.
The program focuses on supporting primary producers with livestock businesses located within the 2025 Inland River Flood scar who incurred significant extra transport or freight costs as a result of the flood, including mustering livestock for safety, transporting fodder or water, and moving livestock, fencing, equipment, or machinery to manage animal welfare.
Eligible primary producers may apply for one grant per primary production business for 50% of the total eligible transport or freight costs, up to a maximum of $5,000 (ex GST). The subsidy is specifically targeted to those who experienced direct impact from the flood and ensures that critical animal welfare measures can continue despite the challenges caused by the floodwaters.
The program is designed to alleviate financial pressure on livestock producers while enabling them to maintain the health and safety of their animals, supporting the broader resilience of the agricultural sector in flood-affected regions. By covering key transport and logistical costs, the subsidy helps primary producers respond quickly and effectively to emergency situations resulting from natural disasters.
