Deadline Date: March 26, 2026
The Industrial Research and development Support Program 2026 Call has been launched by TÜBİTAK to bolster the research and development capacities of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises while fostering international competitiveness and sustainable economic growth.
The primary objectives and focus areas of this call include increasing the international competitiveness of firms, developing products targeting international markets, gaining competitive domestic technologies in areas where there is foreign dependency, developing technological products with strong commercialization potential, gaining the competence to conduct collaborative R&D and innovation projects, supporting project-based research and technology development activities, and enhancing the ability to perform R&D projects in cooperation with universities. The scope of the program covers R&D projects that increase technological competitiveness across all sectors and technology areas, specifically focusing on new product design, the improvement of existing products, and the development of new production technologies that reduce costs or enhance quality. Priority is given to projects aligned with the TÜBİTAK 2024-2025 R&D and Innovation Topics, particularly those addressing pre-disaster and post-disaster technologies and the priorities of the 12th Development Plan.
Projects undergo a rigorous evaluation process that begins with a preliminary assessment followed by referee reviews. Proposals may be rejected without technical evaluation if they involve completed R&D, lack contribution from the applicant firm, focus purely on investment infrastructure, or involve routine applications. A threshold score of 60 is required for a project to continue in the evaluation process, with scores based on industrial R&D content, project planning, and the potential for economic and national benefit. Financial incentives and additional points are available for projects that demonstrate high commercialization performance from previous TÜBİTAK projects or fall within specific priority areas like the Green Growth Technology Roadmap. For joint applications, the commercialization score of the coordinator organization is taken into account. While individual organizations are generally limited to two project applications per call period, this limit does not apply to collaborative or joint project submissions.
The call schedule requires organizations to complete a base-level registration before submitting their full project proposals through the PRODİS system. Project durations are typically limited to 24 months, though extensions up to 36 months may be granted for specific technical requirements such as clinical tests or prototype stabilization. All submissions must be finalized with a valid electronic signature before the stated deadlines to be considered for funding.
