Deadline: September 30, 2025
Net Zero Industry has launched a call for proposals closing on 30 September 2025 at 2:00 PM to finance strategic competence initiatives that contribute to a competitive, resource-efficient, and resilient Swedish manufacturing industry with net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.
The focus is on implementing strategic initiatives that contribute to Net Zero Industry’s mission, developing a method for evaluation of manufacturing industry against Net Zero Industry’s mission, and creating educational collaboration for net zero greenhouse gas emissions and resilience. Projects are expected to deliver methods to map the current situation, identify areas for improvement, and measure outcomes; strengthen cooperation between business and academia; develop working methods and structures for knowledge sharing; establish platforms for continuous professional development; and create resource-sustainable models with plans for implementation and scaling up.
The call consists of two offers. Offer 1 is for projects developing a method to evaluate the ability of manufacturing companies to achieve the Net Zero Industry mission. These projects must involve at least four parties, including two industrial companies and two actors from academia or research institutes. Funding is available for up to 50 percent of total eligible costs, with a maximum of SEK 5 million per project, and projects may run for up to 24 months between November 2025 and October 2027.
Offer 2 supports educational collaborations where universities or university colleges coordinate projects with at least two industrial companies and one academic or research institute partner. Projects will develop and test innovative models for interdisciplinary education, work-integrated learning, and advanced-level training to strengthen sustainability-oriented competence. Funding is available for up to 70 percent of total eligible costs, with a maximum of SEK 6 million per project, and projects may last up to 30 months between November 2025 and May 2028.
Applications must be submitted in Swedish or English and include all required attachments such as project descriptions, CVs, impact logic, and letters of intent. Proposals will be assessed on potential, feasibility, and the involvement of appropriate actors, with attention to gender equality and system perspectives. Decisions will be made in competition, with approved projects required to participate in joint activities coordinated by the Net Zero Industry programme office.
