The BIC Araba is now accepting grant applications to support businesses and organizations in adopting forward-thinking technologies and decarbonization practices.
Álava has introduced a new grant program aimed at promoting innovation and decarbonization across the region’s businesses. The initiative is designed to enhance the competitiveness of companies by supporting innovative projects and actions that drive sustainable growth and efficiency. By providing targeted subsidies, the program encourages organizations to adopt forward-looking technologies and practices that contribute to a greener, more innovative economy.
Eligible beneficiaries include companies of any legal structure with their registered office or an operational center in the Historical Territory of Álava that have been in operation for at least one year. Self-employed individuals with tax domicile in Álava who have been registered with the Spanish Tax Agency for at least one year are also eligible. Additionally, technology and research centers, university teaching units in Álava, foundations, business associations, and corporate R&D units with a presence in the territory and a minimum of two years of establishment can apply.
Each eligible entity can receive funding of up to €60,000 per year to support their innovative projects. The grant can cover a range of eligible expenses, including external costs for contracting qualified suppliers to carry out innovative actions, and internal personnel costs associated with the design, development, execution, monitoring, or evaluation of these actions. For companies with one hundred or fewer employees, the grant can also fund investments in fixed assets, specifically under the General Accounting Plan categories for computer applications and machinery.
This program represents a significant opportunity for businesses and research organizations in Álava to advance innovation, improve competitiveness, and contribute to sustainable economic growth through decarbonization and modern technology adoption.
