The Via Dinarica project is inviting applications for grants aimed at supporting sustainable tourism and green development along the Via Dinarica trails and sites in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The focus areas of this public call are improving accommodation infrastructure and supporting the improvement of tourist services in the field of sustainable tourism and green and circular economy along the trails and sites on the Via Dinarica in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This public call is part of the third phase of the Via Dinarica project, titled “Sustainable Tourism for Green Development along the Via Dinarica Trails in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The project is financed by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), and implemented and co-financed by the United Nations Development Programme in Bosnia and Herzegovina (UNDP BiH). It is carried out in cooperation with local partners including the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism, and the Ministry of Trade and Tourism of Republika Srpska, with additional co-financing from the Federal Ministry of Environment and Tourism.
This call is focused on Priority Area 1: Improving accommodation infrastructure along the trails and sites on the Via Dinarica. A total of 125,000.00 KM is available for this priority area, aimed at supporting the five best-ranked project proposals. Grants per application range from a minimum of 16,000.00 KM to a maximum of 25,000.00 KM. Each applicant must ensure co-financing of at least 30% of the total project value, with 30% provided by the applicant and 70% covered by the project fund under this call.
The Via Dinarica initiative aims to promote the significant natural and cultural resources of the Western Balkans region, to enable adventurous and recreational activities for nature lovers from all over the world, and to preserve mountain areas, cultures and landscapes that represent an oasis of untouched nature in Europe. The specific objectives of this public call are to support the development of accommodation infrastructure and to improve tourist services in the field of sustainable tourism and green and circular economy along the trails and sites on the Via Dinarica in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
