Deadline Date: January 28, 2026
The German Foreign Office’s Climate Fund supports projects focusing on the economic opportunities arising from the ecological transformation as well as on the climate-peace-security nexus.
Projects may be supported with budgets ranging from 10,000 € to 30,000 €, and applicants are expected to contribute financially or through in-kind support, including staff time. Eligible organizations must have a South African base and demonstrate the capacity to implement and manage the proposed project. Applicants are expected to define clear goals and deliverables to allow for monitoring and evaluation, provide a detailed financial plan, and outline planned outreach activities and media coverage.
The programme is designed to support initiatives that create measurable impact while promoting collaboration between sectors and civil society. Projects should be structured with clear objectives, realistic budgets, and effective communication strategies to maximize visibility and engagement.
Applicants are encouraged to submit proposals that align with these criteria and demonstrate strong potential for sustainable outcomes and community or sectoral benefits.
